The reason why you should reach out as soon as it seems like you might relapse is because if you don’t the devil WILL put a spell on you:

He will quickly make relapsing seem like no big deal to you

Every time, we are tricked by this

But if you reach out, I will be able to prevent the devil from getting in your mind like that and we can fend him off together

There are no excuses anymore

“I had a bad day” or “I was tired” no longer

The reason why you should reach out as soon as it seems like you might relapse is because if you don’t your amygdala (primal part of the brain) WILL take control of your prefrontal cortex (reasoning part of the brain which thinks about consequences)

You will lose control in a way that only bothers you after the seed has been spilled - while your brain is in animal mode you won’t be bothered that much

So my job is to catch you when you’re going into animal mode and bring you out of that downwards trajectory
